Jennifer Giordano-Coltart, Ph.D., focuses her practice on patent prosecution, due diligence, licensing, and general intellectual property advice in technologies relating to pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. She prosecutes patents for clients in the U.S. and abroad, and provides patentability, patent validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate counseling to assist clients in business planning. Dr. Giordano-Coltart also conducts portfolio analysis in connection with licensing and acquisitions.  She also provides assistance on litigation matters relating to biotechnology and pharmaceutical matters.

Dr. Giordano-Coltart has broad research experience and expertise in the areas of molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, immunology, vaccines, physiology, and cancer biology, in addition to biologics, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and various medical devices. 

Dr. Giordano-Coltart conducted her doctoral research at Cornell University Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she designed and implemented molecular biology and biochemical experiments to study human DNA replication. She has also conducted research in the areas of intracellular trafficking, apoptosis and human genetic diseases. During law school, Dr. Giordano-Coltart focused her studies on intellectual property law and related fields. She wrote and edited for the Duke Law & Technology Review, in addition to planning the annual intellectual property law symposium and other intellectual property law events while acting as President of the Intellectual Property & Cyberlaw Society.
