Successfully defended one of the largest U.S. forest products manufacturers against a former employee's allegations that his termination constituted a breach of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, a retaliatory discharge prohibited by state law, as well as race discrimination prohibited by Title VII. We won summary judgment on all claims and a subsequent appeal to the Fourth Circuit. As a result, our client was awarded litigation costs.
